Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China

The Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region is the largest territorial unit in China. The territory of modern Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region has been continuously inhabited since the late 1st century, when Emperor Banchao conquered the territory of modern Xinjiang and incorporated it into the Han Empire of China.
